Renée van Dis is a researcher at the Laboratory for Interdisciplinary Science, Innovation and Society (LISIS-INRAE) in France. She is specialised in real-time research impact assessment and transformative science (ASIRPA). Originally from the Netherlands, she holds an MSc in Organic Agriculture from Wageningen University, the Netherlands, and a master in History of Science, Technology and Society from EHESS in Paris, France. After working for several years at the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations in Rome, she completed her PhD in sociology at INRAE in France. Her thesis explored how impact assessment in real-time (ASIRPA Real-Time approach) helps researchers to responsibilise as they are guided in envisioning their contribution to a societal mission. Her current activities focus on guiding researchers and other stakeholders in their contribution to societal transformations.
